Sunsynk 5kW Hybrid Compact Inverter – SG04LP1-EU-SM2 LV

The Sunsynk 5kW Hybrid Compact Inverter is a new-generation hybrid inverter designed to give you full control over how you use and store energy at home or at your business. It can combine solar, grid power, batteries and even a generator or wind turbine, allowing you to reduce your electricity bill while keeping the lights on during load shedding.¹

Smart hybrid power for South African conditions

• 5kW continuous output – enough to run essentials such as lights, plugs, TVs, computers, fridges, pumps and other key appliances.
• 48V battery compatible (40–60V) – works with most popular lithium and lead-acid battery banks with an intelligent 3-stage charger and Li-ion BMS self-adaptation.²
• Up to 6.5kW solar PV input – connect a generous PV array to maximise daytime solar production.¹
• Dual MPPT trackers – two independent MPPTs (with 2 strings) help optimise generation when panels are installed on different roof orientations.^1,3
• High charge / discharge current – up to 120A battery charging and discharging for fast battery response and efficient energy use.^2,4
• Fast transfer time (≤10 ms) – seamless switchover from grid to backup to protect sensitive electronics during load shedding.¹

• Compact enclosure – space-saving design with a lightweight 5kW “Compact” chassis that is easy to mount and ideal where wall space is limited.⁵
• Natural cooling & IP65 rating – fan-less operation for quiet running and fewer moving parts, with IP65 protection for indoor or outdoor installation in sheltered locations.^1,5
• Clean front layout – colour LCD display with simple icons showing power flow, battery state of charge, load status and grid interaction.

Flexible operating modes

The Sunsynk 5kW Compact can be configured to match your energy strategy:

• Backup / UPS mode – use the inverter with batteries only for pure backup and add solar panels later.
• Grid-tied with solar only – start with PV panels and the inverter, then add batteries when you are ready.
• Full hybrid system – combine solar, batteries and the grid for maximum saving and reliability.
• Off-grid operation – run from solar and batteries with generator support in remote areas.^1,7

Advanced control & monitoring

• Wi-Fi / app monitoring – monitor your system in real time via the Sunsynk app or web portal (Wi-Fi dongle on Compact/Ecco models).^1,7
• 6 time-of-use periods – schedule how the battery charges and discharges during the day (for example charge from solar, discharge in the evening and during load shedding).¹
• Export limiting – set the system to zero-export if required, or allow controlled export where permissible.
• Multiple communication ports – RS485 / CAN interfaces for BMS communication and external metering.^2,13
