Hinen B16000 16.07kWh Low-Voltage LiFePO4 Battery
The Hinen B16000 is a substantial low-voltage energy-storage battery for residential and small-commercial solar systems. Its 16.07kWh rated capacity and 14.47kWh usable energy provide a practical reserve for households and businesses that need longer backup runtime, greater solar self-consumption and reduced reliance on grid electricity.
Built with LiFePO4 chemistry, an intelligent battery management system and high-current capability, the B16000 is designed to work with a compatible 48V-class hybrid inverter. Final inverter compatibility, communication settings and firmware must be confirmed before purchase and commissioning.
16.07kWh high-capacity energy storage
The battery provides 16.07kWh rated energy and 14.47kWh usable energy under the stated test conditions. Its 51.2V nominal voltage and 40V to 57.6V operating range make it suitable for compatible low-voltage solar-storage platforms.
A recommended 90% depth of discharge balances accessible storage with long-term battery management. The datasheet specifies 6,000 cycles under its defined operating conditions, making the B16000 suitable for regular solar charging and daily energy use.
Strong 200A continuous output
The B16000 supports up to 200A continuous charging and discharging, with a rated battery power of 10.24kW. It can provide a 240A peak current for up to 60 seconds, helping a correctly designed system manage short periods of higher demand or equipment start-up current.
Actual battery current and power may be reduced according to temperature, state of charge, cell conditions and BMS protection limits. The inverter, battery cables, isolators, fuses and switchgear must all be sized around the required current.
Flexible expansion up to 96.42kWh
Hinen specifies a flexible storage range from 16.07kWh to 96.42kWh. This gives property owners the ability to start with one substantial battery and expand the storage bank later as electricity usage or backup requirements increase.
Any expanded battery bank must use matched, compatible units and follow Hinen’s approved parallel, communication, firmware and commissioning requirements. Batteries of different models, capacities, ages or firmware versions should not be combined without written technical approval.
Intelligent battery protection
Triple battery-protection features include comprehensive temperature detection, intelligent BMS control and a built-in overcurrent protection switch. The BMS monitors over-temperature, over-current and over-voltage conditions to protect the battery and connected system.
These protections do not replace correctly designed external DC isolation, overcurrent protection, suitable cabling, earthing and professional installation.
Monitoring and communication
RS485 and CAN communication allow the battery to exchange operating information with a compatible inverter. Visible energy tracking through the Hinen app helps users review storage behaviour, while remote upgrade capability supports ongoing system management where enabled.
The battery also includes 32MB run-log recording for operational data. Correct communication cables, pin assignments, battery profiles and firmware remain essential for reliable integration.
Designed for protected indoor installation
The B16000 uses a floor-standing format and measures 402.4 × 913.4 × 265.9mm, with an approximate weight of 115kg. Its IP21 rating means it is intended for a dry, ventilated and protected indoor environment.
The specified charging temperature is 0°C to below 55°C, while the discharge range is above -20°C to below 60°C. The maximum installation altitude is 2,000m and the stated operating humidity range is 10% to 85%.
Warranty and certification
Hinen specifies a five-year warranty for the B16000, subject to registration, approved installation, compatible equipment, operating conditions and the full manufacturer warranty policy.
The datasheet lists CE, RCM, EMC, CEC, CEI, RoHS, S-Mark, KBIA, UL and relevant IEC certification and standards, together with UN38.3 and MSDS transport documentation.
Compatible system requirements
The battery requires a compatible low-voltage inverter supporting its 51.2V nominal voltage, 40V to 57.6V operating range, current capability and RS485 or CAN protocol. Compatibility must be verified before adding the battery to either a new or existing system.
For higher-power inverters, the battery bank must be sized to deliver the required current without exceeding the BMS limits. A qualified installer should assess the inverter rating, maximum loads, required runtime and planned solar charging power.

Frequently asked questions
How much energy is usable?
The datasheet states 14.47kWh usable energy at 90% depth of discharge under its specified test conditions.
Can additional B16000 batteries be added?
Yes. Hinen lists a flexible capacity range up to 96.42kWh. Expansion must follow the approved matching, communication and commissioning requirements.
Will the B16000 work with any 48V inverter?
No. The inverter must support the battery’s voltage, current and CAN or RS485 communication requirements. Compatibility and firmware should be confirmed before purchase.
Can the battery be installed outdoors?
No. Its IP21 enclosure is intended for a suitable dry, protected and ventilated indoor location.
How long will it provide backup power?
Runtime depends on the connected load, state of charge, configured reserve, inverter efficiency and battery condition. A load assessment is needed for an accurate estimate.
