This Solis and Greenrich combo combines the S6-EH1P6K-L-PRO hybrid inverter with the Greenrich UP8000 lithium battery to create a capable single-phase solar and backup platform. It is suited to residential properties, home offices and small businesses that want to reduce grid dependence, store solar energy and keep selected essential circuits operating during power interruptions.

The UP8000 option is the largest storage option in this range, with smart Wi-Fi BMS monitoring for longer backup and greater energy independence. The inverter, battery, solar array and essential-load circuits must be sized and commissioned by a qualified installer around the property’s actual consumption and electrical supply.

This is a supply-only equipment combo unless installation is specifically added to the quotation. Solar panels, mounting equipment, cables, switchgear, protection, labour and compliance certification are not included.

Solis 6kW Pro hybrid performance

The Solis Pro inverter delivers 6kW rated single-phase output and up to 6.6kVA apparent output. It accepts a recommended maximum PV array of 9.6kW, uses two MPPT trackers and operates across a 90-520V MPPT range. Dual MPPT tracking helps a system designer divide the array across two suitable orientations or string layouts.

Its 40-60V battery range matches modern low-voltage lithium storage. The inverter supports up to 6kW charge/discharge power and a maximum charge/discharge current of 135A. Battery operation remains subject to the connected battery’s own limits, communication and BMS instructions.

Fast backup and generator-ready control

Automatic UPS switching of less than 4ms helps maintain power to correctly selected backup circuits. The inverter can provide up to twice its rated backup power for 10 seconds, supporting short starting surges when the complete system is correctly designed.

Generator connectivity, automatic generator on/off control, six customisable charge and discharge time settings and peak-shaving capability provide flexible energy management. The inverter also supports approved parallel configurations up to 36kW; this combo contains one 6kW inverter.

Greenrich UP8000 battery storage

The UP8000 provides 8.007kWh nominal storage at 51.2V and 156.4Ah. Its 1.5C cell discharge rate design and 8000W stated power give the battery strong output capability for a compact low-voltage storage module.

The datasheet specifies a maximum charge current of 100A, maximum discharge current of 160A and short peak discharge of 350A for 100ms. For improved cycle life, Greenrich recommends approximately 75A at 25°C charging and 75A at 25°C discharging under the stated conditions.

Battery protection and communication

The Greenrich BMS includes overvoltage, undervoltage, short-circuit, temperature and charge/discharge overcurrent protection, together with a dormancy function. Communication is provided through RS485, RS232, CAN and Wi-Fi, enabling integration with the compatible Solis battery profile and correctly configured communication cable.

Wi-Fi smart BMS with AI function. Final inverter firmware, battery firmware, communication protocol and compatibility must be confirmed during commissioning.

Built for demanding South African conditions

The Solis inverter has an IP66 enclosure, natural-convection cooling and an operating range from -40°C to +60°C. It is listed to NRS 097-2-1 and relevant IEC standards in the supplied datasheet. The Greenrich battery should be installed in a protected, dry and ventilated indoor location within its specified temperature and humidity limits.

Warranty and expected service

Greenrich specifies a 10-year battery warranty and more than 6,000 cycles, subject to registration, operating conditions and the complete manufacturer warranty terms. The inverter and battery remain separate products for warranty purposes, and each component is covered according to its own manufacturer and supplier conditions.
